Lycos, Inc., is a web search engine and web portal established in 1994, spun out of Carnegie Mellon University. Lycos also encompasses a network of email, webhosting, social networking, and entertainment websites.
Had an email account with lycos since 1987 or so. No problems, no spam. work perfectly like a dream. Only once did I need to contact support and they were responsive. Only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is that it moved from a totally free service to a paid service over depending on storage limits. Rates are very reasonable.
