They are starting to get on my nerves with this card blocking for "security" nonsense, clearly banks are doing this over the top declining because aren't they liable now if someone is scammed?Anyways my issue is i ALWAYS use this card for AMAZON i have tons of orders but today they blocked my order and made me confirm it, clicked confirm but Amazon told me my card is declining and to choose another payment method. Me going onto the APP and clicking approve should be enough why do i need to then confirm in texts and call you to make a payment to AMAZON one of the most well known companies in the world who i have paid money to at least 50 times!Card security should only security check if its alot of money or some random person/company that has hardly received payments but blocking Amazon and even petrol stations like wt(f is the point?
Halifax banking app is great well laid out easy to understand when you need to phone them for assistance they are always very helpful and on the ball. Thanks to all the customer care team and the same can be said for the staff on the high street branches.
Got scammed by a QR reader at a restaurant & immediately called Halifax. Was told would have to wait 48 hours for rogue company to be blocked & later that day money was taken from my bank. Called Halifax again & this time my card was cancelled & money paid back into my bank swiftly. 2nd call handed fantastically well however would have been a 5 star review if card had been cancelled immediately on first call
The staff who answer the phone are absolutely clueless. Have been on the phone for couple of hours, and each time a new staff answers the phone, they just transfer me to someone else. Eventually I had to hang up because it's going nowhere. Also they don't even know what products their bank is offering. Probably the worst bank I've dealt with.
Where to start with this one!First of all, I have to admit that I had forgotten that my fixed rate interest only mortgage finished on the 21st July 2023. That was, until I received a letter through the post today, July 14th 2023! When my wife opened the letter a shock hit her right between the eyes. Our monthly payments were to rise from £703 to an eye watering £2,682!!!An absolutely outrageous amount of money for people on a pension to be expected to pay.So, I called the Halifax, whilst the lady I spoke to did all she could to find a way to help, that search was not fruitful. The lady in question did inform me that I had been informed, reminded that this change was about to take place, but I assured her that I had not recieved any of those reminder communications.I explained that I knew the life of my mortgage was coming to an end in 14 months time, therefore my home had been put on the market. Due to the actions of an incompetent government the property market isn't very bouyant. Yet we do have interest in our house. BUT and it's a big BUT, why wasn't my fixed rate mortgage fixed for just another 14 months, bringing that fixed rate right to the end of the mortgage period?Due to unforseen circumstances the only way I could repay the full loan was to sell my house, which I was prepared to do, and I thought by putting my house on the market 14 months prior to the end of the mortgage would be the perfect way to complete my obligations to repay the full loan. With just 14 months to go you would think there would be a solution to this problem without the daylight robbery of a vast amount of money being demanded of me each month. Apparently not! This is the Halifax Building Society, a company my mortgages have been with since around 1979, the same company which advertises itself with a famous Oasis song, 'Stand By Me'. The lyrics of which are performed as follows: 'Stand by me, nobody knows the way it's going to be'. Well, this company are not 'Standing By Me', and I'm sure the Advertising Standards Authority might have something to say about this complete fabrication.I will add that when my wife open the letter informing us of this rise in our repayments she burst into tears at the sight of the large black type spelling out our fate. Thankfully my wife doesn't have a heart condition or this tale may well have had an extremely tragic ending. Seemingly the Halifax Building Society doesn't 'Stand By Me' or my wife or potentially anyone else, if it doesn't suit them.
Bogus fraudstersYou call yourself a bank when you refuse to give my terminal ill partner his disability payment. Disgusting to treat people like that it's not fair at all
About 3 years ago I received a letter from Halifax saying that my account would be put into dormancy if they did not hear otherwise. I do not live in England soI wrote back by registered post asking them NOT to my my account dormant. Months later I tried to go online and was told the account had been made dormant and since then I have filled in numerous forms, sent notarised copies of passport and other documents, sent them by registered post, multiple phone calls all to get the dormancy lifted. No reaction. I don't know where to turn next. Apparently they don't care about threats of writing to an ombudsman.
Halifax bank. You’ve let me down. An absolute disgraceful banking app. My friend had Taylor Swift tickets in her basket and as she went to pay the website asked her to approve the payment in her app- fine, most banks ask you to do that. But then again most banks have a simple method to approve this payment. But not Halifax bank. Oh no no. For Halifax, ladies and gentlemen, they have to send you a code (which they didn’t) and then they have to call you to confirm this- which yet again they did not. This caused us to lose the tickets. I understand Halifax want to be extra cautious with payments but this is ridiculous as they didn’t even send codes. I now have to take time out of my celebration holiday abroad to try get tickets again tomorrow which wouldn’t be a problem of Halifax weren’t so DOG MEAT. If I do not end up getting Taylor Swift Eras tour tickets, I will be personally contacting Halifax and consider taking further action. DONT USE THIS BANK. NatWest is much better. My friend who was using Halifax to try get the tickets will now be switching banks because of the atrocious online banking system. Taylor would be disappointed in you Halifax bank, I hope you know that!Side note - it wouldn’t let me rate it 0 stars.
It seems to be impossible to speak to anyone with any intelligence. I want to ask why the interest I'm receiving on an isa is staggeringly low. Spent ages getting past security questions on the phone, only to speak to someone who was clearly uninterested and said she couldn't help me. Then said to stay on the phone while she rang someone else - after several minutes waiting & listening to beeping, I wasn't sure if I was still connected and couldn't waste any more time. Incredibly poor customer service, and an inexplicable way of calculating interest. Unbelievably unimpressive all round.
This is a god awful bank...should avoid like the plague!!!Had my account restricted!!...no notice..no warning...been a month..been calling them to ask...nobody knows anything...bills not paid..mortgage not paid....yet still nothing...amazing!!!Surely the customer should be told..or asked if need be...for information...Yet nothing..no time frame....I hate halifax bank
Interested in the halifax credit card, 3 of us applied, over 70, single, with a good credit rating on transunion, which they use. Never had any problems with credit in the past. Requesting a £1200 limit. Numerous emails with terms and conditions, red tape etc over 2 days. None of us were accepted,????
In the last year I have seen my investments "managed" by Halifax decrease in value by 9.4%. Yet you still have the cheek to take "management" charges!Perhaps if you spent more time working on INVESTMENTS instead of prattling around with PRONOUN badges and RAINBOW flags I would not have had to take a hit of greater than £25,000.It is fair to say you disgust me.
